It is with a sad heart that I must inform the members of the Wodonga Hockey Club that our Clubs first Life Member, Noel Mason passed away 8/2/15.

Noel was a terrific servant and supporter of this Club for many years.

He was a Player, Coach, and Committee Member. He was an integral part in forming the Club we have today and establishing many of its core beliefs…family, fun, fair.

Noel’s importance to this Club is reflected in his Life Membership, the naming of the “Noel Mason Honour Board”, and in the yearly award of the “Noel Mason Youth Encouragement Award.”

On behalf of the entire Wodonga Hockey Club community, we would like to express our deepest sympathy and condolences to the Mason Family.

Noel Mason - 1988

Friday 13/2/15, Committee Members, Life Members, and players attended the “celebration” of our esteemed Life Member, Noel Mason.

It was filled with fond memories, tears, and laughter. Noel would have been proud of his family…

Saturday morning our Club received the following message from Helen Brockman, Noel’s daughter, asking and that we share it with you all.
“I would like to thank the Wodonga Hockey Club for all their comfort and support over the loss of our Dad. He lived for his hockey in his younger days and even after he retired at 54 he still went and watched even up until last August.

The flowers were beautiful and the notice in the paper and the Facebook message were so thoughtful.

Wodonga was always his Club and he loved it so much.

THANK YOU everyone.
Keep hitting those balls in to that goal!

– Noel’s Family”
