The official opening of the Wodonga Hockey upgrade is to be held on Sunday, May, 6th 2018 at Silva Drive Wodonga at 3.15pm between the women’s and men’s Division 1 games.
The women’s game starts at 2 pm to be followed by the men’s game at 3.30 pm. The coin toss for the men’s game will be done at approximately 3.15 by a Wodonga councilor.
Hockey Albury Wodonga is pleased to announce the partnership between Wodonga Council and the Association in delivering the Wodonga Hockey resurface by Tiger Turf has been successfully completed. This followed a commitment by the Council to co-fund the new surface in December 2017.
This $550,000 project included a large commitment by the Association clubs in removing the old surface with over 400 volunteer hours and 100 hours of plant and equipment donated by local Companies to assist the first stage having an in-kind value of about $50,000. The Association has committed a further $175,000 and the Council the balance.
This facility will be another major part of the Wodonga City sporting infrastructure as a first-class surface and venue where visiting teams will be hosted.
